AFU Information

As of January 2025, all advocacy services must be paid directly by families unless an AFU Request to Pay (RTP) approval is in place before services begin.

AFU Approval Process

AFU approves funding requests on a case-by-case basis, and approvals have been inconsistent in recent months. There is no guarantee that funding will be approved for advocacy services. AFU has not provided any information on their decision-making criteria specific to my services, so I am unable to advise families regarding funding requests. If you need help completing AFU paperwork, AFU has advised parents to contact them directly.

Options for Using AFU Funding

1. Request to Pay (RTP) – Must Be Approved in Advance

  • Parents can submit a Request to Pay (RTP) for AFU approval before booking
  • If the RTP is approved, I will bill AFU directly on your behalf
  • RTP approval must be in place before services begin for this option
  • When completing a new RTP, use the following service provider information:
    • Jennifer scharf, 104-2323 Mamquam Road, Squamish, BC V8B 0H9, 604-655-1260

2. Request for Reimbursement

At this time, I have no information on which method is more likely to be approved or under which service provider category AFU prefers me to be listed.

If you plan to use AFU funding, I strongly recommend getting written approval from AFU before booking to avoid unexpected costs.
