Terms of Service

This Agreement is a formal document that outlines the terms and conditions for our single, 60-minute Advocacy Strategy Session. It is designed to ensure a clear understanding of what services are provided, how payments are handled, and what responsibilities each of us holds.

Description of Services & Scope of Work The Services provided under this Agreement consist of a single, one-time 60-minute Advocacy Strategy Session. The purpose of this session is to provide verbal guidance and strategic insight on one primary advocacy issue, helping you gain clarity, make a specific decision, or identify next steps.

The Services do not include:

  • Review of any documents (e.g., IEPs, assessments, reports, emails).
  • Attendance at any school or district meetings.
  • Ongoing support, follow-up communication, or a continued partnership.
  • Any written deliverables, summaries, or action plans.

Client Responsibilities & Expectations You agree to:

  • Be punctual for the scheduled 60-minute call.
  • Provide me with a clear, verbal summary of the issue you wish to discuss.
  • Refrain from recording the session without my explicit prior written consent.
  • Ensure all information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

Fees & Payment Terms The fee for the Advocacy Strategy Session is $150 CAD.

  • For Direct-Pay Clients: The fee, plus applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST), will be invoiced to you after the session. You agree to remit payment via e-transfer or credit card within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
  • For AFU-Funded Clients: The fee of $150 CAD is GST-exempt. Payment will be billed by me directly to the AFU portal at the end of the month. You acknowledge and agree that you must have sufficient AFU funding approved before the session and that you are responsible for ensuring this funding is available for the full fee on the day of the session. You agree to the Cancellation Policy outlined below.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy You may reschedule your session with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or no-shows, will be forfeited. A cancellation fee of $75 CAD will be charged. This fee will be billed directly to you. For AFU-funded clients, this fee will be invoiced directly to you as AFU does not cover unrendered services.

Confidentiality & Disclaimers All information shared is confidential. I am an experienced advocate and educator, but not a lawyer, and I do not provide legal advice or legal representation. I cannot and do not guarantee any specific decisions or outcomes from school teams.

Governing Law This Agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

Entire Agreement This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between us for this single session.

Acceptance of Terms By booking, paying for, or attending an Advocacy Strategy Session, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
